Sleep deprivation means getting less than 8-10 hours needed, causing exhaustion and impaired function.

75% of high schoolers fail to get enough sleep.  Average 7-8 hours, but varies by state (71-84%).  77% lack sleep.  70% adolescents suffer deprivation.  Insomnia links to high blood pressure. 

Causes: early starts, screens, homework. 

Impacts: reduced memory (20%), concentration (22%), scores (35%), mood issues.  Anxiety, depression rise. 

Solutions: later starts, routines, limit screens.

Prioritizing sleep enhances performance.
